Taggear/Chilli Rookie TournamentThe date has been set for our annual 3-man rookie tournament.
June 1st @ Chilli Paintball
$60 per team entry before May 25th.
$75 per team entry after May 25th
$10 per person all day air.
$60 per case of paint.
This is a 100% cash payback tournament...the more teams, the more money you get!
This tournament has always had a great turnout, and has had excellent reffing. If you and your friends are wanting to try tournament paintball without the worry of spending a ton of money and getting waxed by great teams, then this tournament is for you.

All day air means air fills the entire day you are there, and I don't think there is any gun restrictions as long as it is in semi mode. By the way, what is your name? I noticed you are from Farmington, I live outside Hanna City.

a case has 2,000. If you don't shoot crazy fast, that would probably be more than enough. Half a case might do ya.

You know Heath huh, I haven't seen him in a long time I worked with him at Schapecci's for a while. Yes there is prize money, it depends on how many teams show up, the more teams, the better the prize $$.

Any gun is fine, but we will ask that all electronic guns be kept on semi- mode with no bounce. We will monitor RT triggers on Tippmanns on a case by case basis.
We will be plaiyng on the speedball field. In the past we have shortened the field up and it has generally played pretty well after we moved the bunkers around.
Most teams opt for chipping in on 2 cases of paint, and then they will buy more only if it is needed. Some teams just buy 3 and don't worry about having left over paint.
This is an excellent tournament for people who have not experienced a tourney before. In the past, we have had teams of all ages and equipment level. I believe the last two years the tourney has been won by high school or college students. The few constants though have been that the tournament has always boasted excellent attitudes and sportsmanship. There will be plenty of excellent players helping ref the tournament that have always been great about giving tips and pointers in between games. So if you are looking to try a tournament and have fun no matter how your team places, then this is it.

would a team have to have like team jerseys or just matching clothing? and are there a limit to pods that u carry?

No and No...most teams probably will NOT have matching jerseys, but some may...and you can carry as many pods as you wish...in my experience, you probably will not need to carry more than two pods...and there will be many games in which you won't need any pods.

Gates will open at 8. It is possible it could be open sooner, just depends on Chilli's staff.
Captain's Meeting at 8:30
First game at 9.
In the past, the tournament has run ahead of schedule because teams do a pretty good job of being ready when it is their time to play.

I just want to thank Taggear and Chili Paintball for hosting another great tournament. Everything went very smoothly and there were very little delays between games.

Sorry, I have been a little busy. I will get the complete results posted today.

15 teams total...the tourney ran quick and smooth. Overall excellent sportsmanship and competitiveness from every team. So far we have had a ton of positive feedback, and we are in the works for another tournament in September.
I believe the payouts were 1st through 4th, $400, $275, $150, and $75. Not bad for a genuine rookie tournament with $60 entry!

My guess is that we will have 2 tournaments. The first being sometime around May, and the other in Sept.
Once we meet with the Chilli staff we will know more. We usually meet with them sometime in February.
